Orange County Business Journal Article: Vertos Aims for US Expansion in 2023

In the News – The Orange County Business Journal recently featured Vertos Medical and its plan for continued U.S. expansion into 2023.
“We’re growing really, really fast,” Chief Executive Eric Wichems told the Business Journal. “We’re scaling the company and building.”
The article highlights how sales for the mild® Procedure, Vertos Medical’s proprietary treatment for back pain associated with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS), have doubled in 2021 alone, and growth this year and next will be in the 60% to 70% range. The company’s goal is to gain a “true national footprint” over the next year to help treat the millions of LSS patients who may benefit from the procedure.

Although the complication rate for the mild® Procedure is low, as with most surgical procedures, serious adverse events, some of which can be fatal, can occur, including heart attack, cardiac arrest (heart stops beating), stroke, and embolism (blood or fat that migrates to the lungs or heart). Other risks include infection and bleeding, spinal cord and nerve injury that can, in rare instances, cause paralysis. This procedure is not for everyone.
