James M. Corbett, President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Corbett joined Vertos Medical in November 2008 as president, chief executive officer and member of the board of directors.
Previously, Mr. Corbett served as CEO and president of ev3, Inc. and chairman of the board of directors until 2008. Prior to its merger with ev3, he was chairman of the board of Micro Therapeutics, Inc. for three years. Mr. Corbett has also held the position of president and CEO of Home Diagnostics, Inc., as well as president of Boston Scientific International during the Scimed/Boston Scientific acquisition. Prior to his term as general manager of Baxter Cardiovascular, Japan, Mr. Corbett held various sales and marketing positions at Baxter Healthcare Corporation.
A graduate of Kansas University with a B.S. in business administration, Mr. Corbett has served on the board of several public and private companies over the years, including Symphonix, Therox, Alsius and ev3.
Rebecca Colbert, Chief Financial Officer & Vice President of Finance
Ms. Colbert brings both financial and commercial experience to her role at Vertos Medical.
Previously, she held the position of vice president, customer and sales operations for the surgical division of Bausch & Lomb. Ms. Colbert also served in several roles including vice president, finance & sales operations for eyeonics inc., an ophthalmic device company whose rapid growth and impending IPO prompted Bausch & Lomb to acquire the company in February 2008.
Ms. Colbert is a certified public accountant who began her career in public accounting with Deloitte. She earned a bachelor degree in business administration from the University of Texas and master of accounting from the University of Southern California.
Eric Wichems, Vice President of Marketing 
Mr. Wichems joined Vertos from Allergan where he served as director of marketing for medical devices in the plastic surgery market. He has almost a decade of experience in the healthcare industry through product management, marketing, and strategic planning assignments at Allergan and Johnson & Johnson.
Mr. Wichems earned a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia, a master degree in engineering from North Carolina State University, and a MBA from Duke University.
Charlene Myers, Vice President of Clinical/Regulatory/Quality
Ms. Myers' extensive experience in the medical specialties field includes leadership roles at PowerVision, Genyx Medical, Alcon Laboratories and Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc. (a Johnson & Johnson company). She possesses more than 20 years of clinical research expertise in IDE/PMA processes and regulations, due diligence for new acquisitions, post-approval market support data collection, and technical writing.
Michael Enxing, Vice President of Sales 
Mr. Enxing brings nearly two decades of sales and sales management experience to Vertos Medical, having previously worked with companies such as Tecnol, Stryker, ANS (a St. Jude Medical Company), and CSI (Cardiovascular Systems Inc.)—most notably in the areas of new product launches, IPOs and acquisitions.
Michael Mydra, Vice President of Health Outcomes & Reimbursement 
Mr. Mydra possesses more than 20 years of business management experience in the healthcare field, including reimbursement, clinical, sales, and marketing expertise.
Before coming to Vertos Medical, Mr. Mydra served as vice president of reimbursement for Sanarus Medical, Inc., a venture-backed medical device company specializing in the treatment of women's breast disease. He has held senior leadership positions at Urologix, Inc. and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota.
A graduate of the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, with both a B.A. in Biology and an M.B.A, he also holds a graduate certificate from the University of Minnesota — Carlson Management School/Mayo Clinic, Advanced Management Program for Healthcare Executives.
Christy Takeno, Financial Controller
Prior to joining the Vertos team, Ms. Takeno held the position of accounting manager for the surgical division of Bausch & Lomb. She also worked as assistant controller at eyeonics inc., an ophthalmic medical device company, before Bausch & Lomb acquired it.
Ms. Takeno began her public accounting career with Ernst & Young, LLP, during which time she earned her certified public accounting license.
An alumna of Chapman University, Ms. Takeno graduated summa cum laude with bachelor of science degrees in both accounting and business administration.
Phillip A. Thompson, RN, CNOR, CRNFA, Director of Professional Education
Mr. Thompson leads training and proctoring programs for Vertos. A Registered Professional Nurse, his experience includes educational program development and implementation. Mr. Thompson holds recognized certifications in both the operating room and as a registered nurse first assistant. During more than 26 years of hands-on surgical experience he has worked in direct collaboration with surgeons, interventional neuro-radiologists, and interventional pain practitioners. At Vertos, Mr. Thompson has educated and proctored over 250 physicians in the performance of the mild® procedure across the USA and in Canada.
Prior to joining Vertos Medical, Mr. Thompson held a variety of management positions that included Spine Sales Consultant, Assistant Manager of Orthopedic Surgery, CRNFA/Nurse Clinician/Educator, and Director of Surgical Services.
