Fitbits Helping Researchers Track Success of Spinal Procedure

Source— ABC 7 Eyewitness News Published February 18, 2019

ABC7’s Circle of Health segment discusses the Motion Study, which is taking place at 20 centers across the country and using Fitbits to track how mobile and active patients are after undergoing the mild® Procedure. “The other data researchers will be tracking is the use of pain medication, such as opioids, before and after the procedure,” reporter Denise Dador states.

The news segment features study patient Ronnie Turner, whose “usually active lifestyle” was restricted by “narrowing of the spaces within his spine, known as lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS).” According to the segment, Turner was “back on his feet the next day” after having the mild® Procedure. The video details how mild® is performed and features insight from Dr. Vance Johnson, the Director of Spine Service at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Murrieta Campus.
